Monocular effect for the commander
« le: 01 novembre 2011, 15:19:20 pm »
Frequently for see better the action of  unit in LOS but too far for being well seen in the 3d view, I swithc in 2d map or the isometric. I'm asking if it is not possible simulate a monocular\binocular effect for the 3d, permitting to zoom far units in LOS and observe better the action from the 3d

I agree, and it has been discussed before on this forum some time ago.

I believe JMM showed some interest in introducing this at some stage but not a priority.

For those 'true Grognards'  ;) who like to get into the Commander's saddle and experience a more authentic battlefield experience, it is a must.

Prior to the Battle of Eggmuhl, Napoleon got out his telescope, rested it on the shoulder of on of his Aides (he must have been short ) and observed the Austrian forces on the far side of the valley.

Like you said in a previous post, I too don't like comparing other games through sign of respect but SOWGB has some functions (including an effective magnified 'telescope' view) which bring the immersive feeling to a new level.

All in the pipeline, I'm sure
