Titre: Farmed fields needed in maps.

New map texture feature : I think it's fair to say a lot of European countryside was "farmed" 200 years ago, I'd like to see some kind of fields in the countryside....now I know this makes no difference to game play, so is perhaps unimportant, it's a cosmetic thing and a low priorty, but it would improve the "look" and "feel" of the maps.

Adding hedges would be very simple......another "woods" tool could be made very thin and a line drawn on the map like a road results in a hedge.

Just pick the "plantations" and you get your fields. It does confuse a bit as it is AFAIK not the right English term for it.

Yes having stuff like hedges or sunken roads is missing IMO.

I think so too, but creating these would also mean to modify the units behaviour in order to take full advantage of such obstacles or lose cohesion, while moving over them...which would mean a lot of work IMHO...
I'd like to see units taking advantage of defiles, sunken roads or even vineyards eventually...

Uh... the game has vineyards already.  I suspect the rest will be added at some point.

Plantations may be called Wheat Fields in the map editor by now.

Thanks, I thought they were like orchards and wooded areas, not field, I will check it out.

I've discovered in the Map Editor that Montebello, for example, has wheat fields (plantations).
They don't show up in the 3D view in game. Only in the Map Editor.
Did anyone else experience this?
I've reported that as a bug.

I have to admit I find the maps the most dis-appointing part of LG, the great thing is that it's easy to make them, so we should have an endless supply of new maps, and it's good that we have four different size's......but......it's going to be difficult to give all these different maps some kind of individual feeling....I know "fields" and "things" make no difference to game play, but they do make a massive difference to apperance......are there any plans to add more feature in future, even if a simple kind of different type of fields - to add a bit more atmosphere.

We also need the restrictions (of different things) removing if that's possible.
