Nice video. But it 's strange that the prussian corps doesn't move .. ??? Is it a bug  from the new patch ?

Altro video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87EqWj8FW7U

Congratulations   :!:     This video is very interesting, could you give me some infos as I'm reloading the game from start, for best effects  -without bugs appearing  after mixing patches and mods...
Which patch have you loaded ?
Which mods are you using ? the effects for artillery are visually excellent and even musket fire looks good...
Are you using the sounds of the game or sounds effects added after ?
The only quibble I may have is with the grass " squares " turning sometimes to strange grey/white crosses (?)...
The global effect is excellent and gives a movie feeling which will no doubt be enhanced when the 141 arrive.
Thanks for this movie, ;)

Standard game at RC5 only mods are peninsular and waterloo packages

Just for me more specific: I uninstalled, deleted the directory, installed the basic game version, installed the cumulative patch, after the RC4, after the RC5, the RC5 for the editor, and at the end the two mods

Thank you for the infos.
I'll try tomorrow after a great cleaning of my HD.
I understand you loaded Peninsular and Waterloo in the same game - is it correct ?
I'd read so many complains about bugs with the new patches, I was deterred to clear and reload once more  :!:

A good clean reinstall is sometimes necessary, BUT:
- last patch (RC5), and both add-on packages have very few bugs - they are in fact excelllent.
- To manage mods, the best and safest way is JSGME. If you need help, ask  :D

Thank you for helping, I reloaded the original DVD (2010) with 03a, 03b rc5, OOB rc5 and played a short Grandchamps and it looks OK now.
I have not yet loaded the Mods of Waterloo and Peninsula , but I'ld do it tomorrow .
But what is JSGME  ????
Now, I'll try to avoid loading too many patches, even when they look promising because I spent much time to install and uninstall when they are conflictuous....
I'm too old for complicated manoeuvers now
Thanks,
Oster

Thanks for your help also and for your videos.
After a short play, it seems that the last patches incorporate some of the effects of the mods for gunnery etc...
Nice to have you and Franciscus to help  ;)
Thanks again,
Oster

Hello oster1815.

If you want my advice, and if you are now starting to enjoy the game, you are good with latest patch RC5 and both add-ons (Waterloo and Peninsula - although this last one apparently has a small bug in one flag - nothing to worry too much), that are easy to install and integrate with the core game. You will find an excellent gaming experience, with the minimum of "work" from your part.

About JSGME: it is a mod manager. You can read this thread (http://www.histwar.org/forum/index.php/topic,5244.0.html), specially through post #8 if you are interested. It basically is a handy tool to manage multiple mods, activating and deactivating them at will and always being able to return to the unmodded game without problems. It requires a bit of knowledge of files and folders structure and needs a bit of messing around with them. As to the mods, besides the 2 add-ons that you mention (that are more than mods), there are lots of them: basically new scenarios and maps and graphic mods (specially Madrussian units mod, that gives a different look to the units, Madrussian and Jacquinot terrain, tree and explosion mods,  Nix's mods that add realistic Hougoumont and La-Haye-Sainte structures to Waterloo,  flag mods,  sound (ex: russian and austrian) mods...

But with the game as is and the 2 main add-ons (Waterloo and Peninsula), you will  have already a fine and full gaming experience. Later, in the future, if you feel like experimenting with some of the mods, then you can "worry" about mods, JSGME, and other things  :D

Just my 2 cents

Best regards
