Understanding Strategic genius
« le: 22 février 2010, 22:05:04 pm »
This is not intended as a retoric speech by a beta tester.. more just my feeling as a customer.

Yesterday i played a solo battle with random map and random oob; the final result was a draw, not a bloody one but a fair draw.

I was near to win the battle but my attitude was a bit passive and i lacked the "masse de frappe" to win the day (me Russians Goliztin Vs France Bessieres in Fall 1814).

Just after the battle i opened one of my Osprey's Campaign book ... Rossbach and Leuthen at Leuthen battle and, after playing HWLG i appreciated the real genius Frederick the Great was for his tactics at Leuthen.

HWLG really help me appreciate the real genius on strategy and tactics for XVII and XIX century.

Reading books give sometime the feeling that winning that battle was so simple... but playing a battle in HWLG just teach you that is NOT THAT simple to win a real one.

Yes of course. Quite true.

I wonder why your post seems to have been made in February? It has been hiding from me!
