A bug burst of activity recently with several MP battles being fought and a lot of PBEM games going on.

They are the GaW/C ones, we have had lots of training/testing and NON GaW games as well that were not posted on the forum.

Campaign number 2 starts today, with some small changes, including a clearer map and rules.

Advance notice for GaW 3, and perhaps sooner :
GaW3 will be for those that are interested in GaW and take part in either PBEM or MP games.

GaW MP battles will only be open to those that are taking part in the GaW Campaign format. We will no longer allow people to enter GaW MP battles unless they are taking an active interest in the GaW Campaign.

Some NBC members are spending a lot of time and effert in the Campaign map moves, building OOBs and battle planning.  Having people drop in for one MP game now and then is not fair on the others who are active on the Campaign map, the OOB building, the battles and the forum.

What counts as active ?.
1. making Campaign map moves
2. Playing MP games
3. Playing PBEM games
4. Posting in the GaW forums

I don't mind how many hours I spend doing the admin for these things, but in the future I'll only be doing this for active NBC members.

I tried my best to open up GaW for the general HW Community, but that has not worked, so in future it will be for NBC members only.

If we don't have enough interest to continue the GaW format, there is a saying here -
"Use it or lose it".

Anyone who is really interested in this is very welcome to join us.

GaW4 "Pennisular War" will start soon. Mastermap will also involve "Fog of War" so  I will be the umpire to update mastermap and will not participate the campaign.

The new FOW and Scouting feature for GAW4 will bring more realism and some interesting battles. These new features are an example of how an idea can evolve.  This is our 4th Campaign and with each one we have learned what works and what doesn't.  In fact before deciding on the FOW feature we ran a "Test" Campaign to find out it's strengths and shortcomings.

For those interested the FOW works like this:

Where a force is in an adjcent Hex (in any direction) to an enemy force the CEH of both forces will be shown like this
1-50 = 50-
51-100 = 100-
101-150 = 150-
151-200 = 200-
201-250 = 250-


Where a force is seperated by 1 Hex (in any direction) from an enemy force it will be shown like this

All other forces are unspotted and are not visible.  Moves are sent to the Umpire who posts an updated FOW Map after each side moves

Ces nouvelles fonctionnalités sont un exemple de comment une idée peut évoluer. Il s'agit de notre campagne 4e et avec chacun d'eux, nous avons appris ce qui fonctionne et ce qui ne fonctionne pas. En fait, avant de décider sur la fonctionnalité FOW, nous mènent une campagne « Test » pour découvrir ses points forts et les insuffisances.

? = Forces presant in Zone unknown stregth, 2 Squares in any direction
50 = CEH less than 50
100 = CEH 51-100
150 = CEH 101-150

After a few delays GaW4 has started.

Planning and testing for GaW5 will be done while we fight GaW4 - without any MP battles.

4 has FOW and 5 will also have a supply system and larger map.

Map reduced to 800 X 600.  This is what each side sees at the end of the first turn.  The 10 CEH Scout units can move 2 Hexes at a time, so the early moves are trying to get more info on the enemy
