atd in a battle often battalions of different corps/regiments attacked together and chaos was normal. The nice pictures of maps you see in books is a bit of what should have been.

No you will not know where your corps are exactly as army commander. And you need to do decision on what you think what is happening. (Of cause sattelite support for Nappi would have been cool.) Thats the way chaos is.

You really think in the fog of Austerlitz anybody did know its position?

Its one of the things that makes this game a sim.

The musket fire isn't a big problem. If I could change it I would though. Looking at it from a practical position it was one of the first things that people didn't like and it might put some buyers off the game a little. I find sometimes that I move away from the action because it is so hard on my ears, but that might be my settings?
If I could have it my way I would have the musket sounds a little less harsh. (perhaps a few orders shouted out in the chaos.  ;)) But like I said it is not too important.
Once more into the breach dear friends...

Do you have an idea about what it was really going on ? Pictures present an artist view, no more...
In the game, the scale is right... so I think the 3D render is right.

The thing is that Histwar is the first game that looks like these works of art so a big plus. :D

There is little by way of biography that I can find on Simeone Fort (1793 - 1861) or M & Th Yung or Jung (from Alsace so variable spelling of the name).  I would like to think they were given some military advice in preparing the paintings but no proof for now.

Best site for these is Gallica BNF for Album de vingt batailles de la Revolution et de l'Empire  http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b7200109f  (unless you have E1500 to spend on a copy )

For Simeone Fort go to http://www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/joconde_fr?ACTION=NOUVEAU&USRNAME=nobody&USRPWD=4%24%2534P and search on Simeone Fort as the author.
