Have at it !
post any maxims about artillery wherever you find them here...perhaps with a
bit of knowledge we can all benefit from the use rather the abuse of this element in
any army of this period.

1.  A big artillery reserve cannot hold a formed enemy without support. At this time scale it is very unwise to let artillery alone. Historically it would have withdrawn once their support is gone. Lack of vision from the general who forgets the turnover of his units in first line will be painful...  :(  (Didier Rouy)
