Titre: Simple question before buying
Posté par: Big_Wickett le 21 janvier 2015, 15:42:19 pm
Hello,

I'm a long time Total War player and after around 1000+ hours of Empire and Napoleon they finally got boring.

So before I take the plunge and purchase Histwar, I just noticed that Les Grognards is still for sale in the Histwar store. So is there any reason at all to get LG now that Napoleon is out? It's cheaper, but is there anything LG has that Napoleon doesn't? Otherwise I'd get Napoleon because it's the newest and I assume has all the work being put into it.

Thanks

No, I dont see any feature LG has, but Napoleon wont offer. The opposite is true. Besides better graphics, Napoleon will provide more valuable features like scenario and campaign editors. But those are still to be implemented, which means Napoleon is still under development. LG will also receive the same improvements which cover such specific features it shares with HW Napoleon, especially gameplay mechanics.

The community is currently waiting for an important patch to improve gameplay and to correct several issues still compromising the gaming experience. You might want to wait until this has been worked out - hopefully soon?!

I would advice to get the basic version of HW:Napoleon then.

I would agree completely with sandman.

Very good, I'll wait until this new patch arrives and see how the game is coming along.

I also want to note that almost all the links on Histwar.com seem to be broken; and isn't there a demo for Napoleon? I'd like to try it out, even if it's outdated.

I think the DEV removed the demo-file temporarily, cos he wants to include the upcoming improvements into it before rerelease it. I assume he doesnt want to provide the demo until a numer of the remaining flaws arent corrected.
I dont know, perhaps they wait even longer to present also new features like 3D-Models and polished textures to attract a larger number of players.

Maybe theres is someone in the community who downloaded a previous demo-version and could appoint it.
