Titre: My computer crashed: Re-installation.

I had to re-format my hard drive and re-load HistWar.

I loaded from my HistWar disk with no trouble. Game launches fine.

Problem is when I install the patch that is supposed to update from my version 1b, I get an error message saying that this file cannot be found:

   d3dx9_42.dll

I'd greatly appreciate help in getting HistWar running again. Thanks.

That is a DirectX9 dll file missing. Even if you have a later DirectX you must go to Microsoft and install DirectX9 End User Runtime. Wait I will find it

That worked!

Any idea why the sound is much more quiet now than before?
I have to turn my speakers all they way up to barely hear.
