Titre: LAN... and another question
Posté par: Marshal Beale le 22 septembre 2010, 09:45:40 am
Is a LAN game possible and how? Do I create a MP game, and then enter my own IP adress on the other computer and the rest of the precidure.

The other question is whats a port and how do I open port 21205? I believe its only nessicary for the host to do.

Cheers, MB

All players must open 21205 both TCP & UDP,  I use a program called PFConfig, for Port Forwarding

For LAN game, I never open a port.
Just the firewall asked me if I accepted the communication between the PCs.
Answer "Yes" to begin the game.. no more

Attention : the IP address is internal address, generally 192.168.x.x
You can get it with the command ipconfig in a Dos Window

Is PFConfig free? Where can I get it?
I'm sorry, I'm not very good with the internet tech talk.

Hi MB.  This is what I figured out.   If you have XP, choose START then RUN; then type in 'ipconfig' into the box.  It'll bring up a screen that will give you the IP addresses you need.

If you have Vista or WIN7 you first type 'cmd' into the START field, then 'ipconfig' and you get the same result.

Any use?

I have run LAN MP games without any problems. Just need the IP address (ipconfig) and off you go. I did not open any ports.
