Bonjour Monsieurs,
Cannot install game (Emperor Edition) from CD to my Desktop PC with WIN XP and AVG 9.0 anti-virus installed.
Cause unknown, cannot solve problem, websearch included.
Here are error messages:
1. ASTRUM INSTALLER (in the same box):
Checksum mismatch. the installation is corrupt or has been tampered with. If you downloaded this file from the internet, try downloading it again
2. ASTRUM INSTALLER (in the next box):
Couldn't read TOC. Aborting.
Prior successful install on Toshiba laptop with WIN VISTA and AVG 9.0. :?

Are you using a download manager?
Also, you might want to turn off virus scanners and malware scanners when downloading and installing the software.

hello,
Thanks for your advice, did a complete install of Vista, was the only way to get rid of the virus and then I reinstalled Artisteer, All ok now.
Duke this is a post on a Geek web site. I would do a Virus Scan & then try installing with AVG disabled

Let me know!!!

Bonjour ajlewisbrookes,
Hope everything is good there in Paulsbo .... nice town ..... :)
I have uninstalled AVG 9.0 and tried to install HWLG from CD, but no luck .... same result .... :(
I am still trying, but if I keep this up, my PC might explode (or my registry get tangled-up) ....
I suspect a WIN XP configuration problem, but don't know what it is ....
Never had this problem installing any of my other game apps .... and there are quite a few .... :?

I just did a successful install from the CD on an XP machine without problems.
It appears that the CD contains the same file we downloaded. I just opened the CD and double clicked on the file. The installation went normally, and I was able to run the game.
If you suspect a virus, and your current virus scanning program can't find it, try an online scan. This one found and removed a virus that McAfee and AVG couldn't find. I'm now using their security suite.

Bonjour ajlewisbrookes,

There's a quaint little Anglo-European style pub in Paulsbo I used to have a pint and a lunch in on my business visits to that town -- it's upstairs over the row of shops on the main street downtown. Can't recall the name.

Tizley's. They have just opened a Brit pub too the "Hare & Hounds". It has a Brit Phone Box outside :p :p

Bonjour Msr. Hook,
AVG 9.0 scan = 0 infections
ESET online scan = 1 infection
I don't suspect a virus .... I'm trying to install from an external CD/DVD unit .... Mad Dog Combo MD 52X16C .... driver may need to be updated (Version 5.1.2535.0 from 7/1/2001) .... :?
However, seems that Mad Dog Multimedia is no longer in business (folded in 2008) .... and my internal cd/dvd drive is screwed up .... nuts! .... :x

I do not have any faulty hardware, am running Vista and can not install the game. I got the same Checksum message and my game was delivered via down load. What can I do? Thanks!
