Hi...
Did you receive an email with Serial Number?
If yes, after installing the patch01a,
you have to launch the program copySN.exe, copy-paste your SN within the window, validate!
If you haven't these SN, I have to send them again.

Have you receive an attached document with the file or just a number?

I received an email with the link to the latest version and a serial number that gives the following instruction:
Second step : Install, Run in order to Copy this Serial Number into the dialog box:
I can copy the serial nunber but when I attempt to paste it into the dialogue box nothing appears.

Could you copy it in a text file?
JMM
PS : in the new process, there isn't any attached doc, just the SN to copy into a SN Box (copySN.exe)
this new software builds the key.hw file.
-
yes, I have successfully copied it into a text file.
Richard

???OK...
Could you rename this text file key.hw
Attention with the extension because the system can hide the real one.
HW:LG looks for a file with the extension .hw
Hope it will be right.. that said, curious..

Success, I renamed the text file and moved it to the Histwar directory and can now play the game.
Many thanks and congratulations for achieving H:LG

The "edit box" in the copySN.ext program does not have a right click context menu that would allow you to paste the number there by clicking on "paste" in the menu.
You can paste the copied number by using the control+V key.
If nothing appears when you do that, it's likely that you did not copy the number from the original email. Try pasting to a text file. If it doesn't work there, copy the number again. If it pastes to a text file, it should paste to the copySN program as well.
It is better to use the copySN program because it creates the correct file and you don't have to worry about hidden file extensions.
