I made a small scenario for the action/ battle at Teugn-Hausen, 1809 in Bavaria.
During the opening stage of France's campaign against Austria, Archduke Charles had the opportunity to isolate and defeat the 3. Corps of Davout. Further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Teugen-Hausen
The scenario includes:
- A map based on "Eggmühl 1809, Storm over Bavaria" by Ian castle and David Chandler.
- An Order of Battle after the same book
- A second, larger Order of Battle based on "Armies on the Danube 1809" by Bowden, Scotty & Tarbox, Charlie, taken from the wikipedia link above
- two scenario files
- two scans from the Ian castle OoB (see attachment here)
Please note that the map is turned counter clockwise. West in the game is north in reality.
Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/351294159/Teugn-Hausen1809.zip
Install:
Just unzip into the main folder of Histwar. In solo mode select scenario Teugn-Hausen1809 or Teugn-Hausen1809lg for the larger OoB.
Have Fun,
Ras
P.S.: Please report any problems.

Nice map! :D
Do you have a scan of the original map you used to make that? Could it be included as a replacement for the map generated by the game?

Yeahnoo. :)
I've attached the map I used. As you can see, it has all the movement explanations etc. Pretty cluttered.
I don't think it's much use and I don't think it's easy to clean it up.
-
Too bad. I was hoping it would be a period map. The one in the game is prettier anyway. :)

That's really nice of you. It's appreciated. I've spend a whole day, but it was a good practice to learn the editors.
I must say that especially the map editor, although it does have a rather quirky interface, is really nice once you've learned the basics and you can use the level tool properly. I only wish we could place more forest and deep forest.
-
Really good i was thinking about this battle just during beta test
-
I only wish we could place more forest and deep forest.
The first thing I noticed about the map was how you'd used the forest tool to get around the limits on how much forest you could have. I'm impressed. The second thing I noticed was that your hills were interesting.
I'm hoping that eventually I can write a program to import elevation data to produce a height map in the game. The format of the data is simple enough. I've done this with other games, I just don't remember where I got my elevation data.

Thanks for the work.
This scenario looks very interesting but RapidShare continuously reply "Unfortunately right now our servers are overloaded...."
No other upload location?

No other upload location?
No, I'm sorry. The file is too large for the forum software.
It contains 3 graphic files.
It's odd that so many people have problems downloading from rapidshare.
Please try again, their servers can't always be overloaded.
-
actually I had the screen that it can only be downloaded 10 times...so I guess this is it...
could you try uploading.com?
thanks

Wtf is going on?
I've a premium account for RS, I just went looking and the file is not limited to 10 downloads. That only happens if you upload it without a premium account. (I first made that mistake with the longer battles) In fact, the Teugn-Hausen scenario was downloaded 30 times as of now. The last one about 90mins ago.
I just tried it myself, as a free user just like all of you. The server tells me to wait 25 seconds.

Cool. Thanks for trying.
I suppose, being a popular service, that rapidshare has several peak times shifting with the time zones.
I've no experience on how long these times could be or when they occur.
-
I had the same problems as CvC but managed to download the zip a short while ago. :D
Thanks again Ras for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your custom built scenarios.
-
Merci beaucoup pour ton travail. Agréable à jouer.
Thank you very much for your work. Pleasant to play.
A+

It's OK with the download from RapidShare.
I will try to play soon

Map Looks very good! And a good scenario..once I get the download to work (same problems as the Count had)
THANKS RAS GOOD WORK ON GETTING IT TOGETHER !!
-
Ras, I enjoyed it tremendously, well done. It was a tougher battle than I imagined.
-
I've just put a few panoramas of the Teugn-Hausen battlefield online.
I'ts one of the best preserved battlefields in Europe, nearly nothing has changed since April 1809...
Just follow the link:
http://napoleon-monuments.eu/Napoleon1er/Teugn.htm
The pictures are too large and wouldn't show well here, so have a look at my website.

Merci beaucoup! Le scénario est merveilleux: la carte est charmante et il y a beaucoup de "fusilerie" entre l'infanterie!!!
Grand beau travail! :p
Thank u very much! Wonderful scenario! Beautiful map, and very interesting infantry volleys!!!!
Very very good work! :p

Hi, I just uploaded your scenario to the HistWar: Les Grognards unofficial File Depot (http://www.guggs.de/hwlg/file.php?id=5), I hope that's ok with you. Let me know if it's not, then I'll remove it, no problem. Just thought it might be more convinient to have all the good stuff in one place, so everyone can find it easily and it won't perish after rapidshare & co decide to delete stuff. :)
-
Two days ago (or about the time you first posted the link to the depot), I was a bit annoyed that you had put it there without notice. I was about to post a critical reply but couldn't find the right words to not sound like an arse. ;)
I really appreciate that you tell me now and it's absolutely okay with me. No problem at all.
It was just that I saw a breach of netiquette and I'm glad I didn't overeact. After all, I upload it here to make it available.
I'd be glad to upload my flagmod to your site as well, once it's finished. If that's okay with you.
I saw that I can register an account there? Good to have such a place, since the upload space here is limited and rapidshare is often unavailable.
Cheers,
Ras

Ok, great to know everything is settled now, my only intention was / is to make all the mod files available to everyone. Files tend to get lost too easily in forums, especially when they are hosted on temporary hosting services like in some cases. That's why I created the depot, nothing more. I get nothing out of it, there's no advertising or anything else that makes me rich. In fact it's the other way around. I do pay a monthly fee for that domain / webspace which is absolutely fine with me. :)
Hope to see your flagmod soon :)

Hello Ras,
I know I'm late, but now that I finally had enough time to play this scenario several times, I want to say that I liked this scenario. Thank you !!
