I've posted a new scenario in the Depot.
The battle of Krasnoi (Krasny) Nov.17 ,1812.
After the departure from Moscow, Napoleon sought to quarter his army for the winter at Smolensk 270 miles away to the west.
A good source of information is the article on Wikipedia.
This scenario is semi-historical. The OOB's are straight from HPS "Napoleon's Russian Campaign' as well as the map which
is an artist rendition of the area only. (:D) the author J Tiller.
I tinkered with the OOB's and rounded up somewhat the French numbers.
The Russians enjoy a superiority in cavalry and artillery.
I've included 2 replay files which I did not play to the end: one has the Russian winning, the other the French and
that victory was simply achieved in the Krasnoi sector by better forward placement of 2 French batteries and the circumventing march by Davout's I Corps into the exposed Russian right flank.
All said it is a cavalry and artillery battle.
Enjoy :p

Hi zu Pferd,
Thank you for this scenario of Krasnoï.
The season is in good connexion with the weather we have on this end of the year (cold and snow).
I'll try the battle ASAP.

Minor thing: i didn't manage to play your videos, it always bring me to the introduction screen of the game...
It's a problem linked to the last 02f(RC3) patch. Impossible to open saved games made before the patch :(

....as I suspected as well. Thanks for the words of incouragement gentleman
The file was a replay of the new Lindenau scenario I re-worked.
No matter, I'll re-post Lindenau. I re-worked map and units.
The elevations are not too exaggerated : so far no real breakthrough with satellite maps. :(
...maybe someday!
Always, your brother in arms
