Retreat movement status
« le: 15 février 2010, 19:26:51 pm »
Does anyone know what has to happen for a "Retreat movement" status to appear for a Regiment ?.....is it a certain number of lost troops, a bad position, or somthing else ?.

Not quite sure.  A couple of times I've had a corps in liaison to support, under no pressure or threat, begin a retreat movement.

The corps commander will often order a retreat in order to consolidate his forces, or get them back in a reasonable formation.  Sometimes they retreat a considerable distance, and can even retreat all the way off the map.  Usually they'll get right back in the fighting.

This is your corps commander doing what he does best.  Most of the time this is in your best interest, so let him do his job.

I like this, but I'd not really understood WHY it happens, sounds like a "get out of trouble" move to re-organise.

sounds like a "get out of trouble" move to re-organise.

That's probably the case.  You'll see it a lot, actually.  In the first demo, they did not do this and losses were a lot higher.
