I would like to change the music in 2D map, how can i do it?
-
I found it :
Histwar Games => Histwar => Sounds => Ambiance => fond.wav
I haven't tried to modify it yet, but this music really annoys me.

Renamed Austerlitz to fond and works fine

Well, I think the third Beethoven's symphony (dedicated to general Bonaparte) would fit much better than the current music :
The « Heroic Symphony » (http://www.deezer.com/fr/music/result/all/bonbon#music/result/all/heroic%20symphony) (second track)

I think it would be perfect for that! the "Eroica"
only one small thing to keep in mind: Beethoven dedicated his 3rd to Napoleon at first, because he was a strong supporter of the French revolution and ideas that followed, and of course admired Napoleon for his success as a General....BUT when he heard that his beloved Napoleon declared himself Emperor he renounced this dedication, scratched the name from the 1st page of his symphony and renamed it "eroica"...
nevertheless one of his best symphonies...and I'd like to hear all 4 movements in the background of a battle very much!

thanks..good idea for Eroica... i will do it

I replaced fond with Austerlitz and worked perfectly. However then amended the wav to include a number of marches and doesnt work. Any idea whether there is an issue with the size of the fond.wav file?
Thanks

Captain/Colonel Jack Aubrey of the HMS Surprise (somewhere around the Galapagos Islands I suppose)...
it's been quite a while since you talked about making Beethoven's 3rd available for us for the game
any news on this project or have you dropped it?

I replaced the initial music by "Pomp and Circumstance" (Edward Elgar). I love this music piece.
But be careful to post any piece of music on the Web because of copyright !
Anyway, you just have to get a CD, Windows Media Player and you will extract your favorite song (Beatles one if you prefer !) in *.wav format then rename the file in fond.wav in Histwar Games\Histwar\Sounds\Ambiance
That's all.

thanks for the info...I remember now ... somehow I forgot
will get to work right away ;)
thanks again

Thanks for that.... ;)

Just a precision : by default, Windows Media Player (or any other tool) does not extract the title with a *.wav format. So, before extraction, you will have to go somewhere in the menus (depending of the versions) to define the right format fot this extraction.

I am using the last movement from the "1812" overture

Merged Batterie D'Austerlitz with Le Pas Accelere as the fond file. May try again in merging some others.
