SOLVED ! - CTD on exiting Histwar

Just a quick update.
Following a sugestion by JMM, I inactivated both directx dll files found in histwar root directory, but the error persisted. I then copied the file d3dx9_42.dll (apparently involved in the error...) from my system32 directory to histwar root, but that also did not correct the error...
Well, just add this as another windows idiossyncrasy, I quit...     (why can't the Macs be the gaming machines ??  )

(as a side note I found that there are two d3dx9_42.dll files in my PC, one on the system32 folder and another on the Firefox root folder (I checked and it's supposed to be there in Firefox 4.0)...both the same version number, but the Firefox one with a Kb more in size... )

Just a thought and a question:

As this crash seems related to some problem when passing from lgdn full screen to histwar windowed (no crash occurs if I run lgdn windowed), is there a way to run wistwar (ie, the splash menu) full screen (like lgdn) ?? That might solve the problem...

This CTD is solved !

It was do to the latest ATI drivers for my graphics board (HD 5750). I had this CTD with drivers 11.3 and 11.4. I went back, got CTD with 10.12, but no CTD with ATI drivers 10.5.  

I will stick with this driver, although maybe some between 10.5 and 10.12 also work (but I do not care  )

So, take note if you are using ATI graphic board. Maybe the "latest" drivers are not the best for HWLG

Hi Franciscus, I'm running 11.3 on a Mobility HD 4200 with no problems.  It doesn't suprise me though Radeon cards can behave weird

A little update on this problem, that also does not exist with the very latest ATI/AMD drivers (11.6)
