Demo Does Not Work with Patch 2.0f

I have been trying to convince a couple of friends to purchase the full game and wanted to try multiplayer with them.   I was under the impression that patch 2.0f allowed PBEM play.  However after applying 2.0f the demo does not work at all, even solo.  It says something about missing key 10?  Any suggestions?

Because the patch 02f must not apply at the demo.
I am working on a demo with the next patch 02g. I'll be back on the features of this new demo
