I do not follow the battle with 3d but almost exclusively with F2.
Only in replay watch in F3 but the battle is the past.
This is a very pity because lose important stages of the battle the most beautiful, sounds etc.
I do not know how would split the screen into two parts one with map F2 and other with F3 in very high resolution, for me would be the only way to follow the 3d.

A mod to change interface would be cool,

For example we could have the historical pictures of each generals with the unit pictures to take the place of the actual icones on the interface.

that's really sound great your idea to have the map F2 visio with the 3d view in the same screen.

My be one quater of the screen (left top) would be sufficient to handle the order and to have the 3d view.

Artillerie... l'Argument Final des Rois!

« Répondre #5 le: 27 Juin 2010, 19:47:08 »

Bonjour Monsieurs,

This is a BIG proposition .... maybe should be a patch ... carbine fire from stationary cavalry close to enemy units ( i.e. when cavalry does not charge home, etc.) ... very complicated , I'm sure ... but happened quite frequently ...

Cordialement, DoE

Diffrent periods.

The easiest would be Seven years war, a lot of uniforms to change, but only a little codeing to change the way the battles are fought.

Then you have the American War of Independence, to do that you would first and formost need to change from 1:10 to 1:1 figure scales as the battles are so small.

Most units were only 200-400 soldiers, and you had much fewer units to, the biggest battles of the war was 30 000 strong, something the game can easly handle. and most were less then 15 000.

After that you have War of spanish succesion, here you have to change quite alot, in coding to change gameplay, but the uniforms are simple, most used the same type.

The realy had ones to do would be Great Northen war and 30 years war. here you have pikemen, and I'm not sure it's even possible to code that into the game, here to you could have 1:1 scale as most battles were less then 50 0000 soldiers

If this requires hard work, a dual-monitor possible with the commands for the map F2?

Would it be possible to Dual Monitor showing 2D on one monitor and 3D on the other? Probably not, but it would be fantastic if it were possible.

Or like the supreme commander serie, you could use the mouse scroll system to swith between the battle map and the 2d map.

I rethink with  dual monitor is not possible.
With switch is not much different how now , F6 or F5 over icon, surely faster is another way to think.
Perhaps 3d in trasparency on the map 2d with switch Darsh method to increase or decrease transparency  ? (very similar to Darsh proposition)
Perhaps better is half screen with 2d and 3d.

Without need of poll
Not considering the technical aspects ,to facilitate follow 3d together 2d during battle, between these options for now:
1)No add new visual (equivalent to too few post)
2)use the mouse scroll system to switch between the battle map and the 2d map
3) 3d in transparency on the map 2d with scroll system  to increase or decrease transparency of 3d.
4)2d in one quarter of the screen (left top) in high resolution and 3d.
5)split screen with 2d (half screen) and 3d (half screen)

I choose 5

Option 5 for me, Alfy. But I still like the idea of Dual monitors, one 2D and one 3D.
