Script scilab for Satellite map of 6-10-30km
« le: 04 mai 2010, 17:48:28 pm »
Sorry for my english
For the map different of 15km there something to change in controls for scilab?
Brucepos explanation work for 15 km map but not for 6 Km
Random map of 6 km build with map editor creates a file HighV4.hgh of 6KBytes
Random map of 10-15-30 Km                                        "                                          15 KBytes

Scilab program   with lat and long for a area di 6 Km x 4.5 Km                     15 KBytes
I have tested 6km the map work but the distances are di 15 Km not 6 Km.
Perhaps is better that i repeat test but i have some doubt.
Has anyone tried ?

I tried with Scilab program for a 6 km map. I changed the lines about the size of the map for HistWar : it's 61x46 for a 6 km instead of 101x76 for the others but it didn't work (error 999).
I've sent a message to Brucepos and here is what he answered me:

Hi Theo,

The 6km map has a different aspect ratio from the others, so it would be necessary to adjust the settings in the interpolation. I haven’t looked into this as I’m sure that I read that the 6km map was bugged in other ways.

Bruce

So I abandon to create 6 km map.

Théo

I have test with 41x31.No error but the file is only 3 Kbytes and do not work.
Nothing for 6 Km map,what a pity.
Thank Theodoricus.

For curiosity i have build a map with satellite relief of 120x90 km,using the same parameter for Scilab of normal map.
Seems that it is right.
We can see well Garda lake in italy.
The mountains are very steep (it is all x 4 times) compared to the map from 30 km.(is not playable)
But i think that with little error of velocity of corps is possible to use a map of 40-45km build on standard map of 30km (map editor) for campaign.(also other things are wrong how distance for march area, distance  guns fire etc everything has distance how variable) but if area map is more important .....

Too bad indeed...and excellent try Alfiere.
We can't fill in the water in the lake as well. However  perhaps JMM is trying to find a workaround problems with
standing water/rivers  and the AI
