I have only done 50 CEH OOBs so far, but today I decided to make a BIG oob, full 300CEH.

I will basicly make it as russian as I can, so far I got 120 CEH done, about 101 000 soldiers, 20 000 of them cavalry. with 160 guns.
I still got a LONG way to go, will probebly take me many days to finish both sides of the OOB.

Good topic title, and I'm sure your right, many hours of work involved.

I have to admit to being lazy in the OOB area, a decent well balance "random" OOB will do fine for me.

Is it possible to make an OOB using a text editor?
I've tried and won't work, something is missing.

For example: I start with the OOB Editor to lay the foundation by setting the Armies, CiC's and first Corps.
Then I want to go into a text editor to copy&paste the Corps,Div,Brigades,etc...

When I try this (using a text editor) the changes don't appear in the OOB Editor.
I'm sure there is a simple step I'm missing.
Also, is it possible to use a spreadsheet to make an OOB?

(it's easier for me to work in a text editor or spreadsheet)

Thanks

The only way to make or edit OoB files is the OoB editor.  The actual files are a binary format and contain a lot of information besides the names of the units.  You can output a text file with the basic OoB information, but that's not used anywhere by the game.
